Let me start off with: I freaking love this book, and I HATE aliens.
Number Four, aka John Smith, is one of nine Loriens who have come to Earth, on the run from the Mogadorians. The first three are dead, and the story revolves around 4, next in line.
John moves to Paradise, Ohio where he meets Sarah, and instantly falls in love. But then his powers, his Legacies, kick in, and he has to stay under the radar.
Then, the Mogadorians infiltrate the city, Four meets Six, and all Hell breaks loose.
Basically it's an outstanding battle of aliens and humans, and the ending is a REAL tearjerker.
Favorite character: Six
