What Was and What Wasn't: 8 Things That Were and Weren't In the Potter Films

Obviously the Potter films have missed out on a lot of plot points over the years. They have also kept in a lot of plot points. We have collected eight important things they missed and eight things they achieved in the Potter films!

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
WAS : The building tension between Harry and Snape
WASN'T : Some nice pieces of important dialogue

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
WAS : An introduction to prejudice and judgment in the films, something that comes into play later
WASN'T : Just some little pieces of dialogue (don't worry, we'll get nit-pickier)

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
WAS: The hints at Scabbers being Peter Pettigrew.
WASN'T : The Marauders. Harry knows nothing of James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter's friendship in school and the effect they had on themselves and others.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
WAS : A nice transition into the next few films
WASN'T : The development of S.P.E.W.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
WAS : Focus on the Prophecy and the stress of Harry's life
WASN'T : Rita Skeeter subplot (which led to a lot of people not recognizing her in DH1), nor was there focus on Umbridge's hate for non-purebloods, except for one line when she's with the centaurs.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
WAS : The romance. Dumbledore and Harry's relationship.
WASN'T : Horcrux-related memories. Nothing on the cup or diadem in the Room of Requirement or the Gaunts. Harry had to rely on some strange ringing noise to identify the Horcruxes in the next two films.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I
WAS : The darkness and the pressure building and building. The locket was really focused on.
WASN'T : The Dumbledore storyline. Hermione could have read aloud the passage in Rita's book.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II
WAS : The whole true meaning and a good adaptation of that chunk of the book.
WASN'T : Proper deaths...okay, besides that, the Deathly Hallows weren't really explained.
